James Edward Tucker

James Edward Tucker was born somewhere around 1866 in Illinois.

Information not researched:

He might be the son of Clement Pious Tucker (1838-1899) and Sarah E. Collier (died 1866).

He might be in the 1870 Census with parents Clement Tucker and Malinda Tucker (step mom ?).

He might be in the 1880 Census with the above parents living in Murphysboro, Jackson County, Illinois. Several sibling are in the family.

I believe that he married Ellen E Rhine on Feb 27, 1890 in Jackson County, Illinois. In the 1900 Census they are found with children in the same county.

Information that I am sure about him:

In the 1910 Census Edward and his children are found in Union County. He has been married to Sarah McCulley for 6 years. They have 3 children together.

In the 1920 Census he is now 54 years old and raising 5 children with Sarah.

Information not researched:

After Sarah died in 1928 I lost the family. With a few clues about moving "up north" and several hours researching the 1930 census records, I found a James E. Tucker living in Elgin, Kane County, Illinois. He is a widowed man living with son Carl who is 18 years old. He works for the city of Elgin.

He might have passed away in Elgin on October 31, 1960 at the age of 94.

Information about his first wife not researched:

Ellen E. Rhine was born around the year 1866 in Illinois. In the 1870 Census I found a Rhine Family living in Saline County, Illinois. Her parents are William and Louisa Rhine. In 1890 she marries James Edward Tucker in Jackson County, Illinois. From this marriage came at least two children.  In the 1900 Census she is found with her family still living in Jackson County. She dies somewhere between that 1900 census and 1904.
