Myrtle "Mittie" McCulley was born in Nov of 1885 in Union County, Illinois. She was the daughter of Alexander and Delia (Lewis) McCulley. In the 1900 Census she is a teenager living with her family. Somewhere between that 1900 Census and 1904 she married a Carnes/Karnes. She died at a young age somewhere between 1904-1910. Her son Alexander Carnes is living with his grandmother McCulley in the 1910 Census.
Her niece (Mrs Scivalley) remembers that her son was nicknamed "Xander."
