Lee "Glee" Walter Lewis was born in Jan of 1898 in Union County, Illinois. His mother was Ida Mae Lewis. His father is unknown.
In the 1900, 1910 and 1920 Census he is found living with his grandparents William and Jeanie (Wilson) Lewis.
In an interview with Rene Little, she remembered her cousin married Ollie Girtman (who was related to Coy Girtman). They lived in Herrin. She remembers going to a funeral up there, so he might be buried in that area. They had 4 children : Betty (at one time lived in Altonville), Mary (at one time lived in Reyonsville), Joann, and Sonnie (son).

they (glee and ollie) had a daughter later in life that was named Peggy. She is my grandmother on my father's side. She goes by Peggy Sinclair and lives in IL.
